Jerry West
GUITAR-VOCALS
Jerry has been playing professionally for more than 27 years. He is originally from Canton, NC a small town up the hill from Ashville. He played with the 80s rock group Sugar Creek. You may remember them from their successful run on the show Star Search. Jerry was the principle song writer of the 7 albums recorded by Sugar Creek. Several of cuts from these albums were recommended singles by Billboard Magazine. Jerry joined the Band of Oz in 1996. In 1998 he left to work on a project with Atlantic Records in Nashville, TN. After a year and half in Nashville here joined the group. Jerry has performed on two of the groups CDs and performed the lead vocal on Over the Rainbow, the 2000 Cammy Award Ballad of the Year. When not on the road Jerry continues to write and work on songs in his home studio.
Jerry was voted the 2009 CBMA “Male Vocalist of the Year” and “Instrumentalist of the Year”. He sang lead on 2009 CBMA Song of the Year “Build Me Up”

Hey Jerry and Julia! Remmember me from TWM Antiques? I have thought of you two so many times and wished I could see ya. You are both a hoot! I’ve shared with so many folks at work how Julia knocked Julia Roberts down on the dance floor….and they have laughed till they cried. Miss seeing you both and have tried down loading “Over The Rain Bow” that Jerry sings…and can’t. What’s your schedule looking like? Would love to bring some friends to see you. Take care and hope to here from you soon.

Thank you so much for your beautiful tribute to Billy.
Jerry, it was an honor meeting you last Friday at the Cabin Fever concert in Roanoke. I would have to say sir that you are a superior talent along with the Band of Oz. I am going to feature “Dance to The Radio” this weekend on my radio show. Keep sharing that beautiful talent that you are so blessed with. That extends to the fabulous Band of Oz. Consider me a fan for life. I love the group.
Jerry,
Hello. Just wanted to tell you that Jim Queen speaks of you often. I have known him for 30 years and worked with him for the last 10. As you know he is quite the unique individual, with genius that amazes me every day. He’s a good musician also. I’m a musician too. Don’t play in any more bands, but love to jam at coffee houses and with friends. Any way he always talks about when you guys used to play together and work out songs. Maybe some day we could all jam. I play mostly percussion but can play guitar and few other stringed instruments.
Donnie Morton(RIP),a friend of mine, was in one band with me. He always said you were the best guitarist around.
Take care,
Randy Lanier
Our business phone is 828-565-0174 if you want to call Jim some time. He would love it!!!!
